Program Overview

At NSI Academy, we typically help students with substance abuse, mood disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, ADHD and adjudicated delinquent. To do this, we offer 24/7 programming that includes a therapeutic milieu, accredited education program, sports, recreation and other structured activities. NSI Academy’s clinical services are second to none with general psychiatric and medical services provided for on campus in our medical center and individual, group and family therapies are provided by our staff of licensed mental health professionals. A full range of personality and psychological assessments are also available on campus. NSI Academy is licensed by the Wyoming Department of Family Services as a residential treatment center, accredited by the Joint Commission on Behavioral Health and certified as an ASAM Level 111.1 Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment Facility by the Wyoming Department of Health, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Division.

Our core competencies include:

Residential Treatment:

Licensed by the Wyoming Department of Family Services and accredited by the Joint Commission on Behavioral Healthcare and the Wyoming Department of education we serve males and females aged 13 to 17. Each independent residential site is a 20-bed, staff secured setting. Evidence-based therapy in substance abuse, sexually reactive disorders, authority issues and co-occurring disorders and is provided to all of our students based on referring disorder and treatment plans. Medical and psychiatric services are also available on campus 24 hours a day. Both long-term and short-term stays are manageable, depending on the presenting problems and the student and family’s’ responsiveness to treatment.

Young Adult Transition Program:

NSI’s Transition Program was designed to help 18 year-old students – who still require minimal guidance and supervision - better adjust to community life and the workplace. To meet the student’s educational and employment goals, the Program focuses on collaborative resources – Sheridan Community College, Vocational Rehabilitation Services, etc – to provide vocational assessments and training; job coaching; and life skills assessment, training and employment.

Foster Care:

NSI is licensed as a child placing agency and has a therapist directed foster care program that services not only NSI students who are ready to return home but for whatever reason cannot, but we will also provide services to students coming out of other programs who are in need of foster care services.

Transportation:

We provide transportation to and from court, MDT’s etc. as part of the NSI service. We are also expanding these services to include non-NSI students from other programs where transportation to and from critical appointments or events has been problematic.
