Where Students Learn to Lead and Excel

Academics

NSI Academy has received a five year accreditation from NCA in October, 2008 and accreditation from the Wyoming Board of Education, June 2008. Emphasis is placed on a student’s opportunity not only to “catch up” academically but also to excel. NSI Academy makes provision for on-campus education that includes middle school, high school, and GED achievement. Students are challenged to set realistic but high academic achievement goals, with strong value placed on receiving a high school diploma. One-to-one staff assistance is available as needed for Special Education and specific behavior needs. NSI Academy offers High School Title I reading and math programs, as well as vocational preparation curriculum. NSI Academy emphasizes the value of student education and maintains a strong focus on students’ active participation in all aspects of their learning process.

Every year NSI provides a school profile to the Wyoming Department of Education that summarizes the outcomes our students experience during their stay. In 2008 – 2009 our students experienced a growth, on average, of 1.45 grade levels for every six months in the program in the basic battery of subject matter, reading, math, language, spelling, science and social studies. For our special education students this growth was 1.2 grade levels and for our regular education students it was 1.7 grade levels.
